Cabarete
Cabarete, located in the northern part of the Dominican Republic, lies 40 km east of Puerto Plata, and is a very active, charming beach town which receives visitors from all over the world, all year round, especially for those with a passion for water sports.
The beach town of Cabaretewasn’t always this fun; it wasn’t until the 1980’s that it was discovered that Cabarete had the perfect conditions for windsurfing. Since then it’s been the host to many international competitions, including the World Championship of Kite boarding held once a year here.
This cozy beach town has a very active night life with a well known strip of clubs and bars located right on the beach. People come to visit from all over the world, some extending their stay to an indefinite amount of time.
