Las Galeras

Las Galeras is the most distant point one can travel in the Dominican Republic by car. Added to most maps somewhere around 30 years ago, Las Galeras was nothing more than a small fishing village for most of its history. The town that exists today is the result of wealthy foreigners that discovered its beauty and began to build. Today the town is still small in comparison to any other beach town you'll find on the island.

Las Galeras is located on the Samana Peninsula in the North side of the island of Hispaniola. Most who arrive in Las Galeras believe it to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Pristine beaches with powdery white sand, incredible rocks formations, ancient caves, and gorgeous weather make Las Galeras paradise on Earth.

Our journey to the North Coast includes on a brief stop at Las Galeras. Believe it or not, there's more beauty to be found just a short boat ride away at Playa Rincon, one of the world's top 10 beaches.
